'And look! There's even a giraffa camelopardalis!'

Commission piece done by my friend *mr-tiaa. The first in a series of drawings showcasing the Mane Six traveling with Zecora to her homeland in one of my stories.

While the Sable Antelopes rule Port-Au-Prince, there are several 'lesser' animal tribes that live under their protection. In this particular illustration, the giraffe represent the most educated and civilized creatures in Dark Country (Africa). To represent that, they have a very 'British' look that they have adopted, as well as British accents and a very cultured upbringing. They are, by their very definition... the model of a Modern Major-General! (look that up if you want an idea of how they are like and act!)

In the scene above, Twilight Sparkle is happily spouting facts about the giraffa camelopardalis (scientific name for the giraffe) from her handy book on Africa - being that it is her first time here to see and learn new stuff. Fluttershy, with her demure demeanor and politeness and fondness for other animals, is happily talking to the cultured denizen of Port-Au-Prince. Though Rainbow Dash eventually interrupts unnannounced and is looking at the tall and strange creature 'eye to eye'. Needless to say, the giraffe finds Rainbow Dash's manners to be a bit uncouth for his tastes! Pfft, tourists!
