Crystal Valley Forge - Home of the Caliban

 Illustration done by jcbarquet. This drawing is of the Crystal Valley Forge, the largest shipyard in the Republic of Arcadia, based on the island home of the Caliban people. 


Located due east of the coast of the Republic of Arcadia, the Crystal Valley Forge is the magically infused location of the largest shipyard in the world.  The Caliban people are a race of mystics that have long lived on the Calidan Isles.  During the pre-Republic days of Arcadia, the Isles were the subject of a massive invasion by the then war-like Arcadian people.  In a stunning display of power and supremacy, the entire Arcadian fleet was disabled by the Caliban aerial dreadnought.

The Arcadian fleet, prepared to meet its demise, was given a reprieve when the Calidan people forced them into a surrender, earning the greatest respect of Arcadia.  During the founding of the Republic, it was hereby written that the President-Elect of the Republic should always be chosen from the race of Caliban, in deference to their great wisdom and peaceful ways while the Republic Legions maintained their dominance of combat tactics.

It was here that the Republic Dreadnought Red Liberty was constructed and given as a gift to the Republic of Arcadia, its sole duty to always defend the Republic homelands (which encompasses both the Arcadian mainland and the Isles of Calidan).
