Description

The ancient Defiler ship "Lucifer", recently resurrected from its earthen tomb to wreck havoc upon the mortal races of the world once again.

Commission work by :iconbrotherostavia: *BrotherOstavia. All credit goes to Ostavia in regards for this beautiful design and concept of the airships in my world.

Nation: Defiler (Hell) faction
Class: Leviathan (larger than Dreadnoughts)
Role: Aerial Domination & Scorched Earth tactics
Unique Features: Rapid fire heavy 'laser' batteries; Matrix-style hover pads (seen with electro-charged pads on side of ship for flight); Spinal mounted laser cannon (extremely powerful armor-piercing laser)

Illustrated above is one of the largest and most powerful of ships under the control of the Demons. They are also known as 'Defilers' due to their incredibly powerful spinal mounted cannons that can cut a swath of destruction wherever they are fired. These weapons are capable of cutting mountains in half or - tactically - slicing through airships like a hot knife through butter. Many references in ancient history books and tomes make note of a great battle between Heaven and Hell which saw vessels of incredible power firing beams of light that shattered the lands and splitting open mountains... a direct reference to the awesome power and might of these leviathans possess.

Compared to Divinity ships (which are sleek and rely on a handful of multi-purpose weapons), Defiler ships rely on "gunfire spam" (with the many types of laser batteries mounted on the ship) as well as the devastating spinal mounted cannon.

The Lucifer (pictured above) is an ancient leviathan and flagship lost to the ages of time since the climactic battle between Heaven and Hell in the early days of the world.

The interior of the ship bears a strong semblance to modern day submarines - with narrow corridors and hatchways that make it difficult for non-Demonic beings to easily navigate and move about the ship. Unlike their counterpart's (Divinity ships) heavily automated design, the crew compliment aboard a Defiler ship consists of a very large number of shipboard 'marines' (generally monsters and other creatures of darkness, as well as slave and demonic crewmen) to operate and defend the ship.

Most of the Defiler ships have been wrecked and are 'lost' throughout the world, as well as many Divinity ships from the battles of the past; however, the Divinity still has a handful of still operable ships due to them being the victors of those ancient wars.
