The primary antagonist whom Angel Squadron fights, Ellen Locklyre is one of the few women in service of the Emperor of the Authority.

The Locklyre family has a deep and rich history as master merchants that provided pivotal in establishing the dominance of the Authority as the key central trading empire in all of Keros. In addition to that, the Locklyres have a long standing tradition of always committing a family member into active military service, and with this pedigree behind her Ellen managed to join though not without some difficulties. Much of the Authority armed forces frowns upon women in uniform, and she had to claw tooth and nail to rise to the position that she currently holds as Squadron Commander.

Because of the stiff and somewhat hostile environment she is forced to deal with, as well as taking pride in her family's heritage, Ellen has practiced fencing and swordplay since an early age. She has participated in many official tournaments and is well-regarded by the public and middle-class for her nobility, honor, and elegance that comes naturally to her family. Her personal fighter is a BF-109 fighter while her callsign that she is more often known by is 'Red Hornet'.
