A scene from my MLP Fanfic series, and a preview of my new 'villian/enemy' pony race. Known as the "Craven Swarmers", this race from beyond was a threat to Equestria back early in its founding. The Craven nearly wiped out all of Equestria during the dual-rulership of both Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, but they mysteriously turned around and headed back to wherever they had come from - just when they were on the cusp of victory! Princess Celestia surmised that they most likely returned to deal with a more pressing threat. Since then, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna both agreed that it was best not to pry any further into the matter, least they 'provoke' another onslaught by the Craven upon Equestria.

However, due to Twilight's actions from a certain episode in Season 2 (hint hint to what or who was stopping the Craven), the force that has kept the Craven in check are no longer powerful enough to keep them back... and the Craven have returned! Many of Twilight's friends have come to Canterlot to defend the last bastion left in Equestria that can stand against them, and as the defenders fall left and right... Warlord Coltrane realizes he must make a heroic sacrifice to buy the defenders time to regroup. In the scene above, Warlord Coltrane rushes out and charges the enemy, pulling them away from Canterlot (however briefly) to give Twilight and her friends time as his warponies fall around him and he and his warband are eventually overwhelmed by the Craven.

When asked by Roan of Arc why he must go (just prior to the charge), Warlord Coltrane merely turns to her and says: "This is what heroes are for."

Anyway, just a small sneak peek, to those who are still interested in what's to happen!

Indeed! A Knight's Tale is merely the first part of the.. series? I think that's the best way to put it. I have several stories that cover the various adventures that Twilight does leading to the climax hinted in this scene ^^

I'm pretty confused with all of the factions you made. You have medieval knights, Sassanid cataphract, Roman Legionaries (Rome is my favorite ancient civilization. Ave imperator!

), Greek Hoplites, and 19th century British Red Coats. How do they all come together? Top of all that the you have Chrysalis making a come back and the new villains the 'Cravan.'

I would love to get a better understanding of the universe you made.

I saw what you did there also naming the the warlord 'Coltrane'. That wouldn't happen to be named after the Beard'Cole Train'from Gears of War would it? XD

Hehe, it wasn't easy, but I made it work, I'm still plodding along with writing, been dealing with... RL stuff lately, which has gotten be all stressed out, but the recent outpouring of interest has got me back at work on my story. ^^

Keep in mind too that my story is on the same level of the MLP TV show, no super violence or canon altering events (ie Celestia gets married, AJ dies, etc). I'm writing it as a 'plausible' episode format ^^

And on the Gears of Wars reference... you are one of the few people who caught that! Cole Train was one of my favorite characters, and I decided to ponify that name to something fitting ^^

So what is the overall plot so far? I'm trying to find my orientation in all this. Do all the events in the series happen on the same continent or do you have overseas locations?

You have 8 chapter so far. How long is your series going to be?

I'm thinking on an MLP fan fic of my own and it involves some historical elements of its own, like French Cuirassiers, Polish Winged Hussars, British Dragoons, Teutonic and Gothic Knights, and some characters named after historical figures like Michael Ney, Banister Tarleton, and James Brudenell.

When I ran into your fan fic and saw your art gallery I became concerned that our stories might conflict in that they may share similarities and I don't like the idea of being called "unoriginal" or having plagiarizer ideas from another author.
