Haydeaux - The Seat of Prance by Lionel23 Haydeaux - The Seat of Prance by Lionel23
Illustration done by :iconjcbarquet: =jcbarquet. I've currently commissioned him to give some rough environmental sketches of the different far off regions in my 'Expanded' universe for My Little Pony/Equestria.

Haydeaux (ponified version of the French City of Bordeaux) is the chief city in the region of Prance. It is from here that the Damsel Constancia rules from the Cathedral-Palace of Justice in the city center. The entirety of the city is surrounded by a massive stone wall that defines her borders with their neighbors in the City-State of Coltstantinople.

Hey, my friends and I have been doing a bit of work with a few foreign lands in the ponyverse, Prance included. Have you given any thought as to what ponies from Prance are called?

Myself, I took a look at what Applejack said when Applebloom started speaking French, "Mah sister's speakin' Fancy!" and thought that might be perfect, so I refer to ponies and things which come from Prance as Fansie.

It's right in front of it? O.o Isn't that a bit risky in case of an invasion?

Walls with magic-throwing Unicorns vrs a nation of armored, flying pegasi... I think the defenders have the advantage there ^^

Haydeaux? Why not. I would have rolled for "Prairie" personally - it means "meadow" in French and it kinda sounds like "Paris".
Good to see that some people realize France isn't Paris though!
Any reason you choose Bordeaux in particular? I'm curious because I actually live there.

I liked the name and was trying to find a non-Paris name I was familar with. Also a WW2 history buff and Bordeaux (whose name rang somewhat familar to me) was the reason I chose it, as well as being the most obvious ponification of a city that I could do. Also I'm a huge fan of the Aquitaine region and Bordeaux is the capital of said region ^^
