The Dark Country - Kindred Beasts of Burden

Commission piece done by my friend *mr-tiaa. The first in a series of drawings showcasing the Mane Six traveling with Zecora to her homeland in one of my stories.

While the Sable Antelopes rule Port-Au-Prince, there are several 'lesser' animal tribes that live under their protection. In this particular illustration, the wildebeest (Africa's beast of burden) works as a dockworker; loading and unloading cargo from the various ships that visit the trade port of Port-Au-Prince.

In the scene above, Zecora introduces Applejack to a native wildebeest dockworker, being that they are both kindred spirits: hard-working and honest creatures.
