The Witch's Puppet Princesses

Commission work done by ~dejichan. This has greatly inspired me to work on a side project idea of an alternate universe and retelling of the fairy tales we all know and love.

This illustration features three of my original characters reprising roles of various characters and figures in fairy tales but at the same time maintain their own personality quirks and traits from my novel series. Listed below are the fairy tale characters featured in this illustration, in parentheses the character who is playing their role from my novel, followed lastly by their name in this new world of mine.

Snow White (Alexia) - The lovely Lady Alexandra Snow, the sly and subtle princess of the fairy tale of Snow White.

Briar Rose (Claudia) - The noble Princess Claudine Rose, the proud and haughty princess of the fairy tale kingdom of Sleeping Beauty.

The Witch (Rosaline) - The ever-present witch in all fairy tales, Altrosa (german for Old Rose). Usually they are wicked and evil... but what if what was told to you was but a lie?

The idea of the illustration is that the stories of both Snow White and Sleeping Beauty are in part being manipulated and controlled by the Witch (hence the puppet strings). Eventually, their stories will lead to their own respective conclusions.
